Challenging the status quo in digitization
WebLager®
In 2025, Dansk Scanning changed its name to WebLager®. The name change marked the start of a new phase with the same values: responsibility, sustainability, and the courage to think differently, as well as a clearer digital focus and new ambitions.

With roots in Esbjerg and more than 30 years of experience, WebLager® has established itself as a significant player in the digitization industry. The company combines technological innovation with a strong ESG profile, where sustainability, responsibility, and human customer service go hand in hand in the ambition to challenge conventional thinking and create long-term digital solutions.
From physical archive to digital future
WebLager® was founded in 1995 and has over three decades evolved from classic archiving solutions to a modern digitization company. Today, the company helps both public and private organizations replace physical archives with secure, searchable, and sustainable digital solutions.
The core of the business is the customized web platform WebLager®, which makes documents fully accessible – regardless of time and place.
The name change from Dansk Scanning to WebLager® in 2025 did not mark a break with the past but the beginning of a new phase. The values remain the same: responsibility, sustainability, and the courage to think differently. At the same time, the name change clarified the company's digital focus and forward-looking ambitions.
ESG as an integrated business strategy
For WebLager®, ESG is not a reporting requirement but an integrated part of the business, and has been so before ESG was really a thing. Environmentally, the company is solely powered by self-generated green energy through its own wind turbines. The social dimension is expressed through a focus on employee well-being, diversity, and long-term, trust-based customer relationships.
On the governance side, the company works purposefully with transparency, responsible data handling, and high security and compliance standards – especially in work with socially critical and historical documents. Overall, this gives WebLager® one of the strongest ESG profiles in Esbjerg's business community.
"We believe in people who dare to challenge the status quo. Those who have the courage to question the phrase ‘that's how we've always done it.’"
People before systems
Although automation and AI are increasingly prominent in the digitization industry, WebLager® has made a conscious choice that customer service must remain human. Quick response, personal contact, and close dialogue are central elements in collaboration with customers.
Internally, there has been targeted investment in culture and employees with a focus on flexibility, diversity, and community. With employees from many nationalities and the possibility of flexible working hours, a workday is created that takes life into account – not the other way around.
“We believe in people who dare to challenge the status quo. Those who have the courage to question the phrase ‘that's how we've always done it,’” says Frederik Ottosen, Head of Product & Development.
New markets and a forward-looking focus
WebLager® continuously develops the WebLager® platform and is about to launch a new product, PaperMask. At the same time, the company has gained access to the German market – as one of the few non-German players. A market with great, yet untapped potential, where digitization is only just starting to gain momentum.
For WebLager®, digitization is not just about technology but about responsibility. ESG serves as a framework for creating solutions that protect past data, support current needs, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
