If you are an owner-manager, on the board of an SME, or dream of taking on board work in the future, then our Board Education might be something for you.
As a member of a board, you take on several tasks and great responsibility. In the education, we will give you a fundamental understanding of the processes of board work as well as the communication and collaboration that takes place between the board and the management in the company.
Over 5 teaching sessions, you will gain knowledge about the tasks and responsibilities you have as a board member, as well as how you can optimally contribute to an effective and value-creating board.
You will also gain insight into the legal aspects of professional board work and understanding of the collaboration with the company's auditor.
The course is based on the academy education subject "Fundamental Board Responsibility".

We conclude the course with an exam, after which you will receive a certificate for the course (the subject consists of 5 ECTS points).
You will also be introduced to the most common issues you will encounter as a board member and be prepared to solve problems and, not least, dilemmas within the areas covered by professional board work.
Your instructors for the course are teachers as well as business people and advisors, all of whom have their finger on the pulse regarding the current theme of the teaching.
To make the most of the time and network, we start each time with lunch, which is included in your price. After the last module, we have dinner together.
Target Group
We focus on small and medium-sized enterprises, as this is often where one gets their first board position.

Content of the course
- Fundamental understanding of board work in small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Board understanding that leads to practice-oriented theories and tools that can be used in daily life.
- The board's and the individual member's legal responsibility as well as the general legislation in the area.
- Communication and reporting in the board.
- Composition of the board, forms of collaboration in the board, and the collaboration between the board and the owner-manager/management.

- Non-member of Business Esbjerg: 26,500 DKK
The course is offered in collaboration with Smart Academy and is based on the academy education subject "Fundamental Board Responsibility" which consists of 5 ECTS points.
Admission requirement is min. 2 years of relevant work experience.
