Invite a friend to the Wadden Sea

We invite you to a day of indulgence from the very top shelf, where oysters will be picked, we will prepare them over the grill and eat lunch at the fantastic Vester Vedsted Vineyard.

Take the bus from Esbjerg, or join at the Wadden Sea Center's parking lot. From here, we will travel by bus to Mandø and hunt for the Wadden Sea's gold: oysters.

We walk together from the dike on Mandø out to the oyster banks. After about 2 km, we arrive at the oyster banks. Here we collect oysters and eat a few with a glass of bubbles, which of course will be opened with a saber.

With the sack full of oysters, the trip returns to the mainland, to Vester Vedsted Vineyard, where you will be guided on how oysters can be prepared, so everyone can participate!

Marie and her husband, the chef Xavier, serve a delicious lunch and some of the house’s own production, before the day's program ends and the bus drives back to Esbjerg.

Program

• 07:00: Departure by bus from Museumspladsen, Nørregade, Esbjerg
• 08:00: Pickup of those who have driven their own car at the Wadden Sea Center's parking lot, Okholmvej 5, Vester Vedsted, 6760 Ribe. Then joint bus travel to Mandø
• 10:30: Bus ride from Mandø to Vester Vedsted Vineyard
• 14:30: Program ends. Bus drives to Esbjerg via the Wadden Sea Center's parking lot.

The event is organized in collaboration with Annette Posselt from GoToDenmark.

• Time: 7:00-15:30 (Esbjerg) or 8:00-14:30 (Wadden Sea Center if driving yourself)

Practical

Clothing adapted to the day's weather. At least rubber boots, preferably waders. 

You will be provided with gloves, sack for collecting oysters, champagne glasses (for loan) and naturally bubbles, champagne saber, and oyster knives.

You must be employed by one of Business Esbjerg's member companies, and your friend must be a maximum of 35 years old, residing in a different municipality than Esbjerg, and have completed or be in the process of completing an education.

You can sign up for the lottery for a luxury trip for you and a young friend from outside to Mandø with oyster picking and bubbles and then catering and coziness at Vester Vedsted Vineyard. We collect all registrations and draw tickets on Friday, December 5 at 12:00.

All you have to do to participate in the lottery is to register via the registration form here on the page. Note that you can choose a maximum of 1 ticket package consisting of 2 tickets.

We have a total of 20 ticket packages, which will be distributed via lottery on December 5 at 12:00. 

Terms

• All employees of Business Esbjerg's member companies can participate
• The guest you invite must:
• be under 35 years old
• live in a different municipality than Esbjerg
• have taken or be in the process of taking a vocational or higher education. 
• The prize cannot be exchanged for cash
• Winners are found by lottery among all participants no later than December 5 at 12:00.
• Contact data will only be used to contact the winners
• Winners will be notified directly and given further information in week 50.
